spurred tortoise

i have two dogs that have fleas my backyard has fleas and aunts and other not like able bugs and spike my African spurred tortoise. what is safe to use on my back yard to kill everything except my spike.

Kill everything except Spike? Well, you are starting with the wrong idea if you want to eradicate everything. Most of the poisons you are going to consider using will do harm to your tortoise in one way or another, whether by direct exposure, or ingestion of contaminated items in the soil, inhalation of the soil itself, etc.

I would advise looking into something called nematodes, and consulting an organic yard specialist/nursery, and using only natural non-chemical remedies. Keep in mind that many natural things can be dangerous as well to tortoises, and you should research a list of reptile and tortoise safe plants if anything you use is plant based. You can find such lists on anapsid.org and perhaps world chelonian trust or tortoisetrust.org.

I would also advise keeping the dogs out of that yard because they will continually recontaminate the area until this is under control. They will provide food and breeding ground for more fleas to infest the ground.
