2. They are called Wood Turtle eggs, and are laid in a nest. A group of eggs, of most species, is called a 'clutch'.

3. Turtles, like most reptiles, lay the eggs and leave. Crocodilians, King Cobras, and a few other species guard the nest and provide some care for the hatchlings, but not turtles.
