my painted turtle has a grouter on the side of its head that looks like an eye should i be worried

Answer
Such growths are often called 'ear abscesses' and are basically pockets of infection. Proper care is for a vet to open the pcoket and drain it, then provide the proper antibiotics, etc.

Home care sometimes, but rarely, works. Review the cares at http://www.austinsturtlepage.com to make sure the diet, temps, housing, etc. are all good to give the turtle the best chance. You can use Turtle Sulfa Dip per directions as well, but as I said, it rarely helps.
