Question
I have an Indian Tent Turtle(kachuga tecta)-had him for a year. I had kept it for basking outside in the sun in a big goldfish bowl with water upto half his shell. When I brought him in he couldn't see a thing (food.hand etc.) and didn't respond very well to touch. In the water he was bobbing his head from side to side. Has he gone blind?

Answer
You don't tell me how large the turtle was- how much room it had to move around, nor how long it was outside or at what temperatures.

The problem is that this kind of thing can get very hot for the turtle, and heat stroke is probably what is wrong. Heat stroke can be fatal and the best treatment is rest coolish water (low end of the normal scale) and little stress.

The turtle may show problems resulting from sunstroke for some time, and some problems may be permanent.

Good luck!
