Question
So i just got a joey, his name is aiden, and he is right about 7 months old, and is slleping in my hood right at the moment. I was wondering what i can do the help him feel comfortable around me, because he is very skiddish, and shy, but loves to play. Should i giving a slleping pouch wiht my sent on it? I also have tow sugar gliders that are over the age of one, and will not bond with me, i've had them for about 6 months now, and they crabb at me and bite me till no end. any advice?? they are a breeding pair, and i think the female(izzy) is preg, but i dknot know how to be sure. She has two very small lumps on the bottom of her stomach, but thae are soft, and might be just skin and fur. Any way to be sure?

The neutrition.
ok, so the usual food that i give them are:
-a couple cut up grapes
-a small cut of apple
-some frozen fresh berries(blackberries, rasberries, blueberries, and strawberries)
-a calcium supplment sprinkled over their food
- pecans(only a few for like a treat, i know thats not good)
-weat squares cereal(broken up)
-and cooked shredded chicken/

anything i can improve on>

i really need advice

Answer
Hey there! Isn't it cute when your glider sleeps on you? My male, Yoda sleeps in my hood or the pocket of my jackets all of the time. It's completely normal for him to be skiddish of you. The fact that he is already comfortable enough to sleep on you is really good. Most of the time, the bonding process takes months, and new gliders rarely even stay on their new owner's, let alone sleep in their pockets. I advise wearing an old, expendable t-shirt to sleep for a few nights, then cutting off a few pieces to put in his sleeping pouch. His instinct will cause him to curl up and nest with the cloth, and he will definitely become more familier with your scent.

As for the biting, do you pull your finger away or jump when they bite? If you do, then this could contribute to the fact that they don't stop biting. It's important that you never give up on holding a glider just because it bites you. The glider mentality is that if it bites you, and you go away, then it has a method to make sure that it stays unharmed. Leave your finger in the same spot, if they bite it again, so be it. Eventually they will give up and realize biting does no good.

About your pending pregnancy possibility, congratulations! If I were you I would just moniter her, check on the bumps weekly and see if they grow. I would reccomend getting a vet visit A.S.A.P. They can make sure she is pregnant, if she is they can provide or refer you to a place you can get the nessecary suppliments. It's important that she gets extra vitamins during pregnancy.

it sounds like you are well read on the diet of sugar gliders. The food that you are providing them with is very healthy and good for them. The calcium suppliment is a terrific little addition that I myself always do. I advise giving them a few meal worms as well. Meal worms tend to be a glider favorite!

Just make sure that you don't give up on your two untame gliders. Every glider can be tamed with hard work! You'll get there, just have patience with them and provide them with love.
