Question
ive recently acquired a 3 year old butter corn, which was not male as i initially
thought, and introduced it to my two males. she now appears to be pregnant,
and im getting incredibly concerned about the fact that her scales around the
vent appear to be very dry and when ive held her she seemed very
uncomfortable when its touched. shes been hiding for the last few days and she
was introduced to my males about 2 and a half weeks ago

Answer
Hi Sarah
First of all I would remove her from your males. She sounds stressed.  She most likely is pregnant.  But if she were to have mated 2 1/2 weeks ago she still has another month of gestation before she lays her eggs.  (total egg devlopement is 45 days).  In the meantime...here is a great site on breeding cornsnakes with some helpful information on what to expect IF she IS pregnant.  Just copy and paste the below address into your web browser (scroll to bottom of page for breeding info).  Good luck
