QuestionI found a wild toad and he's super small and I'm keeping him and whoud like to know what to feed him I think he is too small for crickets thanks
AnswerWell, your first goal should be to determine what species of toad he is, so you can provide a proper habitat for him. Amphibians kept in captivity require clean conditions, correct humidity and moisture, and proper temperatures and shelter. A shallow dish of clean water should be changed daily, as they soak in it each night. Water should be dechlorinated. Distilled water can be used for misting, but not for the soaking dish.
Amphibians will generally eat any insect that fits into their mouths. Flightless fruit flies can be purchased from Petco or online, and should be sufficiently small for any toadlet. Dust with calcium powder a couple times a week, and feed daily.
Pinhead crickets may also be suitable, if a local pet store carries them. Dust with calcium each feeding (crickets are high in phosphorus).
