QuestionMunch was a seemingly healthy gecko we had for the past several years and personable. We found her today dead in the middle of her tank. Her feet and belly were unusually pink in color and where her heart should be a vivid black spot. Wed like to put some closure to her death and would appreciate any information you may have
Thank you
AnswerHi Yolanda,
I am so very sorry for your loss. I know how you feel as the same thing happened to me with one of my geckos. The only sure way to know what happened is to have a necropsy done at the vets. In the case of my leo, her gallbladder ruptured. With so much over breeding of reptiles for the reptile trade, many are hatched with health problems which can cause premature death, no matter how perfect our care.
Again, I am so sorry for your loss. To get a diagnosis of the cause, a vet is needed.
