Florida blue garter snakes

Question
Their diet has been mainly chicken hearts as of lately.  I cut them up into small pieces so they can eat them easier.

Question -
I have two garter snakes together in one tank, I think one is a female and the other is suppose to be a male but I am not sure.  I noticed some blood in the tank in the feses, what could be the problem?

Hi Heather,
if you can let me know what you are feeding your blue's,the blood may be nothing if you are feeding gold fish it could be related to that sometimes if a snake takes it form the tail it can scratch its digestive track off of the dorcel fin,how ever if you see this again you really should find a vet that is good with reptiles and let him check the fecal matter for bacteria and virul infections,i must say ive only ever had blood in fecis once in 28 years and it was a food related issue.well let me know the diet and ill get back to you with more info.

Hi Heather ,

has there been any more signs of bleeding? ive talked to my vet and we both feel the same if there is no re accurance it is probably ok but would feel better if you took em in for a check up.
