Question
QUESTION: Hey...

she is about 23 cm's with his tail, a good thing happened yesterday, i gave her a bath for about 15-20 minutes and oh boy did she enjoy that she was so mad at me when i took her out, and luckily she did eat, but i'm still a bit worried she is not a baby anymore so she must have a good appetite but she don't eat as much as she used to. so is there maybe something on the market that could make her appetite better.

ANSWER: Hello Roxanne, well Bearded Dragons LOVE bathing. Its recommended every day actually. I am sure she just loved it. Well I am going to need to know, what you feed her, how big the food is, what kind of substrate you have her on, and anything else you changed that you might think is the problem. Oh and how much of the food is she eating.
All of these things are really important, so I can know if the food is causing her stomach problems, or if the substrate is, or the size of the food. All of those things can lead to her not eating so let me know.

As for enhancing the appetite, you don't really need to. Beardies as they get older will have a decrease in appetite. As long as she is eating its ok. Most adult Bearded Dragons only get food once every two days.

Good luck!

QUESTION: hey..
When i got her i started with just some salad, but then i thought pets don't just like leafs and stuff.
The food i give her is no bigger than the space between her eyes as i read it. I give her mixed vegetables which contains: peas, green beans and carrots, and sometimes crickets and mealworms(superworms.)Well last night she ate so much that she couldn't even sit on her stick i had a good laugh, but i didn't give her that much about mmmm..ten properly cut carrots en three green beans and half cut peas. One more thing is it bad for her to give her to much food?

thank you for your time i appreciate it allot.

regards
Roxanne

ANSWER: Hello, the main diet should be crickets and other insects (I really don't suggest feeding mealworms it can be deadly. The hard outer shell of the worm is hard on the digestive sysytem) Greens should only make up a percent of the diet.

They will keep eating even after they are full. So you can give her that much but only let her eat as much as she can in ten minutes. After the ten minutes take out the food and she is fine. Make sense?

Don't use sand as a substrate because it can also cause very serious stomach problems. It locks up in the intestines and is almost a certain death every time. The dragon will snap up its food and accidently injest it and sometime purposely eat it because they need calcium.

QUESTION: Hey...

I want to know what colour she changes when getting mad?
I noticed that when in her box she changes black and when bathing she changes orange.

can you maybe give me a hint on what colour means what.

thanks allot for all your answers.

regards.

Roxanne

Answer
Hello Roxanne, most of the time lizards will change the brightness of their appearance. Dark and dull meaning upset/stressed/sick/mad/etc. And bright and cheerful meaning happy/relaxed/calm/etc.
So if he looks bright and colorful its good, if he looks dull or dark he is upset. Bathing makes her happy, the box makes her upset for whatever reasons.
I hope that helped. Let me knwo if you need clarification, have a nice day!
