how can I tell when my bearded dragon is sick and how do I prevent illnesses.

Answer
When a BD is ill, they will stop eating and become very lethargic.  You will notice an obvious drop in weight.  If they refuse food and refuse to bask, then there is certainly something wrong.

Maintaining the corrects temps, sanitation, and a proper diet and lighting will all help prevent illness.
