Question
My son has a new, couple months old Lepard Gecko and we were told that it
would be ok to feed it only meal worms.  Is this correct info?  Can it live without
eating live crickets?

Answer
Hello Debbie,

Well, the mealworms are fine for a staple feeder, but, he will need some variety as mealies are a little fatty.  Crickets are a little leaner & still high in protein.  So, I recommend at least feeding half & half.  This ensures that he will not get too much fat in his diet.
Also, are you supplementing calcium several times per week?  You can either dust the insects or leave a dish in the tank with calcium powder in it & he will lick the calcium out that he needs.  They are pretty instinctive that way.
Let me know how he is doing.
