My bearded dragon has darkened in colour

I have had a bearded dragon a week, he shed when we first got him but has since darkened alot in colour, is there something wrong?

Staying dark is a sign of stress.  I will give you a proper caresheet to compare with your set-up so you can make any changes needed.  Then you should have him seen by a good reptile vet and have a fecal test done, he may have a high gut parasite load and his tummy is upset.
