Question
QUESTION: Without any aid (hook, stick, tongs), it difficult to hold a 15 plus foot cobra?  Why?

ANSWER: Thats kind of a silly question.  Obviously it's not difficult to hold a cobra of any size but it would be incredibly stupid and even more dangerous.  To answer the second half that again is kind of obvious it's a venomous reptile so very dangerous but no more difficult than holding a corn snake just the corn snake wont kill you if it bites you.

QUESTION: I don't think it is silly nor stupid question.
To be more specific, I would like to know if it is difficult to control such a large cobra with one hand behind the snake's head and the other hand holding the body?  A 15 plus foot cobra is far larger in size than any fully grown corn snake, especially in the girth of behind the head.  I don't know the demeanor of the cobra. Some snakes will fight more when being held.  Will the large cobra squirm and fight more than another snake of similar size?  Because of the large neck size being held by only one hand, is it difficult to control?  I sure this is not a common nor prefered method of handling a snake but I would like to know.  PS - Infering from your response, I have seen many famous snake handlers handling large venomous snakes; I would say it is dangerous but I wouldn't say they are stupid.  Please reanswer my question after my question is a little clearer.  Thanks!

Answer
First of all the only cobra that gets anywhere near 15 foot is a king cobra. Second why would you grab it by the back of the neck?  Unless I'm doign a dental check up of some sort on a snake I would never grab it by the back of the head or neck.  Also just to clear up the last part of your statement / question I don't know who you consider famous int he snakehandler world but I've met a good portion of the people you see on tv handling snakes and you have no idea what goes on behind the scenes of those shows and most of us do jokingly call ourselves stupid forhandling venomous snakes at one point in time or another.  There's no real reason to ever handle a venomous snake.  I'm not sure exactly what answer you're looking for out of me but I would tell you to do a lot more research on the proper handling of snakes in general I believe you have a misconception of how the animals in general should and should not be handled.  A king cobra when properly handled is just as easily controlled as a corn snake.
