Question
Hi, my son had two crocodile geckos for about two years. One has just died (I think do to stress from our move).  he wants to get another one.  the one that died was a male.  will the female tolerate another male at this stage? I was also wondering if they swim.  sometimes they lay in the water dish.

thank you for your help and time!

Answer
Hi Mira
This is another gecko that I have never kept but I did some reading on them and I can see no reason why your female would not tolerate/accept another male as long as you are 100% certain that your remaining gecko is a female

Also-you will want to quarantine any new Gecko that you bring into your household in a separate tank for at least 30 to 90 days

I am not certain if these geckos are usually wild caught imports-if they are they can come with internal parasites

If the Importers/Distributors/Pet Store do not worm them before selling them them you should take a fecal sample to the vet for a fecal exam
Thy will give you meds should they find internal parasites

Your female will do just fine on her own should you decide to just keep her an not get another Gecko
They do not need the company of other Geckos to have a healthy life

As far as I can tell-they do not seem to hang out in the water and as long as you provide a water dish and mist the tank every few days along with a humid hide to help with shedding -your humidity level should be fine

I hope that this has helped and here is a link that has some more detailed info
