hi,i have a bearded dragon for about 2 years,he was only several months old when i got him, sonn after i noticed he had small lumps around his body, that would go away and others come back,in these two years he has only barely grown and is still only about 6 inches long in body size i was jus wonderin is this healthy or is dere somthing wrong with him thanks

Answer
Hi Chris, What you have described is definitely not normal and does not sound like a healthy dragon. It would require a veterinary exam to determine why his growth has been stunted and the cause of the lumps.
The first thing that any vet would likely ask you is about is the temperature in his enclosure. Inadequate temperature will affect any reptile's growth and appetite. The energy they take in cannot be properly metabolized and turned into growth if they are kept at sub-optimal temperatures. Heat also keeps the immune system fully functioning. A weak immune system could result in the formation of infections or abcessess. The basking area temperature for a bearded should be in the 100 - 110 F range with a cool end of 75 - 80 F.
