QuestionHi
I've had my african fat-tailed gecko for I think over 8 years, and she's been in
good health up until about 3 months ago when she stopped eating. She's lost
a lot of weight so these past few weeks I've been trying to force-feed her
worms, but I think she has some trouble with swallowing. She hasen't eaten
anything for a while but she is excreting urate so I didn't think it was a
digestive problem. Today I finally noticed that there are dark spots in her
mouth..is it some kind of mouth rot? Is there anything I can do? It seems
pretty serious
Answer It could be serious. Have her seen by a good reptile vet who can diagnose and treat her properly. Without examination, it would not be possible to know for sure what those spots are, and there are not many over the counter remedies that work anyway. She hasn't even hit middle age so her chances with good vet care are best.
