ball python lethargic

My ball python is8 yrs old.recently he has been lethargic(2 wks).He has been staying under a log  i bought for his cage.Is this normal

Well, that is not usually normal.  Where are you at, location wise?  Sometimes, they will slow down during the wintertime a little bit which is normal.  Does he appear healthy, such as his eyes, mouth, stools, etc?  
When was the last time he ate?  
Is he losing weight?
