Desert Spiny Lizards?

Is it legal to keep these as pets? I just want to make sure before I fly home with one that i caught. I caught a small one just in my dads back yard [No worries, I'm 19 not a minor.] and have been feeding it crickets and other various bugs I've caught. I flew home with one a long time ago but it was old and passed away, and i was a minor then. Now I'm a legal adult and I want to make sure I won't get arrested for trying to smuggle some illegal pet onto an airplane.

Well, I can not answer this directly because I have no idea what state your in and the laws are different for every state and county even.  So that being said if you want to let me know the county and state you're in I could better answer this.  Alternatively, you could go to the states government pages and look up the fishing regulations as these are what we use in California for regulatory statutes of reptiles and the like.  I know its weird but that's California. Also it depends on if your dads backyard borders on a preserve etc.
