9 week old beardie

I have a nine week old bearded dragon and have had him for four days so far. I have stroked him most days and my parents have told me that if I don't pick him up by Sunday they are going to send him back. I don't want that to happen but am nervous about holding him. I don't want to hurt him and vice versa. How do I hold them without hurting him or myself?

OK, you are NOT going to hurt a beardie by holding him.  You MIGHT hurt him if you drop him, but even that is a might.  Never grab him by the tail, and never squeeze-those are the rules.  If you are skittish (which you are) hold him over the tank so that if he drops he doesn't drop very far.  Beardies are the tamest lizard you can buy which is why they are so popular.  GO FOR IT!!!
