Question
hi i have just brought two 3 month old bearded dragons. they both wont eat crickets unless they are dead and put into the bowl with salad! also one is a lot smaller but is very lively so i think hes ok, but he doesnt seem to be interested in food very much, the person i brought them off said that they prefer to eat roaches, i have some to breed but for the time being will they be ok on just meal worms and salad or should i keep trying crickets and take the meal worms away from them. thanks

Answer
Hello Kirsty,

Well, the mealworms can impact them fairly easily because of the harder outer shell.  Plus, they are very fatty & should not be fed as a regular staple.  The crickets, are they just too fast for them?  If so, try putting them in the fridge for a few minutes to slow them down.
Are you using UVB lighting?  If so, what type & brand of UVB light do you use, a fluorescent tube bulb or a compact/coil light?
Do you know the sex of them?  I hate to tell you but you most likely wont be able to house them together for a whole lot longer.  If you have 2 males, they will fight for dominance & one could kill the other.  If you have a male & female, they will breed way too early.  If they are related then that would be inbreeding which is not a good idea.
Now two females "might" be able to be housed together but there is still no guarantee.
