Question
hello,
i have two yellow belly sliders, that are about a year old and about as big as my hand. they are getting really big, and quick! we bought them in flordia on vecation and now they are to big. we could house them but dont know if we want to buy a huge 60 gallon tank. so we are thinking of letting them go when we are in vacation in south/north carolina. we live in missouri and have a lake in our back yard but if we let them go thier im not sure they will survive the winter. if they can even survive out of captivation, if they cant could you possible name a couple of sancuarys located close to saint louis, missouri,
                                         thanks so much

Answer
Hello Allie,

Sorry you aren't able to keep your yellow belly sliders.  They would most likely not make it through the winter no it would be way too cold for them.  You are doing the right thing by trying to find a rescue facility nearby.
Here is a site that may help give you some numbers so you can locate a rescue facility near you..

Good luck!
If you need anything else, let me know.
