QuestionHow cold is safe for rabbits living in an outdoor, enclosed area like a "Mud Room"?
AnswerDear Bill,
Rabbits are most comfortable between 45 - 75 degrees Farenheit. They handle cold better than they handle heat, but when temperatures are lower than 45, a bunny needs a shelter box that he can use to escape from wind and cold.
Clean, dry straw and/or fresh, fluffy towels inside the box are good for added warmth.
As long as a bunny has a warm retreat where he can escape the cold, winter temperatures can be handled. But do not leave him outside if he doesn't have a shelter.
Hope that helps. Please write back if you have any other questions.
