Question
My rabbit is recently started acting strange.  He runs from me when I try to pick him up.  He even tryed to nip and me and makes weird sounds.  He is kinda panting and even sounded like he kinda barked at me?  He usually is very loving and will lick on me.

Answer
Hi Brandy,

unfortunately I can't help you at this point as you really don't give me a lot of info about your current situation.  Without more specifics there are lots of reasons why he could be acting like this:

- He doesn't like a new smell he smells on you.

- He doesn't like how you are holding him.

- He has learned to assume when you are around him you are going to pick him up.

- Part of your daily routine with him has changed and he's reacting to it.

- His house has changed.  His playtime changed.

- Something in his diet changed he isn't happy about.

- He is getting less time with you because it's being taken up in other things.

- He's just changed his attitude about you picking him up.  Maybe now you should only consider picking him up when it's absolutely necessary.

- If he has just hit sexual maturity, he could very well no longer want to be picked up.

- Has he ever been neutered yet?

If you can, write back with some extra info to any of the points I mentioned above, or other points you thought of that I didn't mention.
