My bunny loves to scratch

22 10:00:21

Question
Whenever I let my bunny run around in the kitchen (the only place he is allowed) and my mum goes in either to wash some dishes or cook dinner, he always seems to run around her to claw at her legs and nip her feet.
This has been going on for a while now and o don't know what the problem is.
Thanks

Answer
Hi,

could be several things.

1. He is young and not fixed, and has reached sexual maturity.  He or she needs to be fixed.  By a good rabbit vet only, not any old vet.

2. He has been fixed but his hormones are a little higher due to springtime.  If he/she is fixed already, this is seasonal and will pass in a few weeks.

The above two would be even more true if you also found the rabbit trying to mount your mom's foot or leg.

3. He wants attention and this is how he is trying to get people to play, pet and/ or notice him.

To find a good rabbit vet go here:

to find a House Rabbit Society recommended vet near you.  They have links to international listings if you're outside the USA.
