QuestionMy rabbit is a black New Zealand. She has developed red callus like sores on the bottom of her feet. She used to have fur where the sores are but now the fur is one. It started on one of her feet with a small red callus and now it is on both feet. What can I do to get rid of the sores?
Thanks,
Rachel
AnswerHello Your rabbit has sore hocks this is caused by thin fur on the feet of your rabbit. To cure this you need to wash both feet with dish soap %26 dry reaL GOOD then rub some Preperation H on the sores for 1 week this will help heal the sores. then put a resting pad in its cage. scrap sheetrock/ gypsum wall board. or rough plywood in the cage for it to sit on.
good luck !
