orange paw

Hi,

My rabbit has recently developed orange staining under his front foot.  He is hopping about happily enough and eating OK.  It doesn't appear to be casuing him pain but i can't hold him down long enough to get a proper look!  Could be of course that he's stood in something but don't think so.

Dear Susie,

Since I can't see his foot, nor know what he's been into, I can only guess.  But here goes.

If he's been eating carrots, I would not be surprised if he's dribbling carrot juice on his paw and staining it.  This has happened with some of our bunnies, who have gotten "carrot blood" paws, noses, and chins!  :)

If the fur is not otherwise abnormal, and if he's eating and drinking and pooping normally, I would not worry too much about it, especially if the stain does not come off easily.
