3 week old bunny

Question
I have two 3 week old dwarf bunnies. Their mother got loose and was killed a couple days ago. They are eating the rabbit pellets and hay, and are also drinking water very well. I was wondering if there is anything I should be doing for her, even though she seems to be doing very well on her own? I have read numerous times that babies should have their mothers milk until they are at least 6-7 weeks old. Any information will be greatly appreciated.
Holly.

Answer
Hello Holly,

The very best thing for you to do is get kittens milk, which is available at most pet stores, or an electrolyte solution such as pedialyte (which is for human children), and syringe feed it to the babies twice daily, until they are 6 weeks old and should then be weaned from it, but it is vital to have it for developmental nutrients.

They are about the age to be eating hay and pellets unlimitedly, so they are doing very well. Remember to check them over daily to make sure they are warm and  have a little round belly, and watch for any changes in eating or behavior!

Congrats on your baby rabbit litter! They will be adorable to watch growing up.
