One rabbit ear flopped over, shaking his head, feels warmer than other ear

Question
Hi there, I have an upright eared rabbit. However, I have occasionally seen him flop one of his ears over so I have gotten used to it. Lately though, he flops his ear over more and is shaking his head. I felt the ear and it is warmer than the other. Inside his ear is very clean and I cannot find anything that seems out of place. He is eating, drinking, pooping normally and is still active.
Are these symptoms of an ear infection?

Thanks,
Amy

Answer
Dear Amy,

Yes, your bunny could well have an ear infection.  I would get him to a good rabbit vet for full evaluation and treatment:

Note that if left untreated, this could develop into head tilt/torticollis, which is very hard to treat.  Hope you can get your bunny to a good vet before anything gets more serious.
