Question
hello, my rabbits (2 mini rex and a jersey wooly) have flees and we really need to get rid of them before fair starts. fair is two weeks from now. each rabbit weighs about 3 pounds. also my jersey wooly is staind from her cage is there any house hold remidy that will get rid of the stain but not harm her wool?

Answer
Hi Mandy,

Revolution is great. It is the best on the market that I know of, and it works in stages starting with the adult and then to the eggs. It will work on it's own, and if they cannot live on the rabbit anymore because of the revolution they will die off in your home as well, unless you have other pets for them to move to. I would ask your vet, or call the office about the safety of other products to help rid in the house. (I've never had fleas with bunnies yet). I use the revolution with my dog.
On your bunny, it depends what kind and colour and texture the fur is. You should be able to see the adult fleas, like you mentioned running through the fur, unless they have died off by now. You can do a thorough check of its fur and you can grab off the adults usually and squish them. Maybe a fine tooth comb can help capture....they are quick, but usually you can catch them.

They live in vacuum for period of time also, so if you treat your home with something you find to be safe...also the vaccum.

You have to get it from a vet.

as for the stains Generally a little white vinegar on a wash cloth rubbed on the fur will remove the stain. For really stubborn stains try a little Hydrogen Peroxide followed by household corn starch powder, then brush. If the vinegar or peroxide don't work, soap and water may, but not very likely if the stain is caused by a rusty cage. There are also commercially prepared stain removers on the market. Just be sure they are safe for cats or rabbits.
