rabbit biting fur out of other rabbit

Question
Hi there, ive had 2 female rabbits (sisters) for about a year and just this week they have started pulling out each others fur (one more than the other as you can see small bald patches and scratches) it doesnt appear to be hurting either of them as they just let the other sit on them and do it. They havent been spayed yet could this be the problem or is it something else.
Many Thanks

Answer
Hmmm, sounds like there might be some overgrooming going on.

This can be caused by boredom, or not being spayed  might be causing them some frustration that they work out by overgrooming each other.

If what you see with them is similar to this:

you'll have to try some different things to get them to stop.

More exercise time
A larger exercise area
Some new toys
Getting them spayed

it might be a little trial and error before you find something that will work for them
