Question
how do i know if its wild or domestic?  i guess its wild cuz my cat caught it outdoors but i dont know exactly where so im afraid to go put it back in my back yard cuz my cat will get it again and kill it - its pretty perky too cuz my daughter let it out in her room and i almost NEVER caught it (lol) so even though i dont know where mom is, should i still go put it back out there tonight?

my cat caught a baby rabbit and i caught her with it and got it from her - i thought it was dieing at first cuz she got it with her teeth but after getting it and putting it in a pet taxi with blankets, its coming around now - its eyes are open and it seems to be pretty frisky with normal movements and all but it is still a baby - im scared it will dehydrate - what do i feed it?  how do i give it water?  i dont have intentions on keeping it but i wanna keep it until i can set it free cuz i dont know where the mother is and it won't survive on its own right now  - please help me out - thanks a lot

I am just going to send you to the site that tells you what to do rather than typing it all out.  If it is really a wild rabbit the best thing to do is to get it to a wildlife rescue shelter.  If you copy and paste the link below into your browser it will tell you what to do.  If you really can't find any skilled rehabiliators in your area it also will tell you what to do.  I just want you to be aware that any abandoned baby rabbit has a very slim chance of making it without its mother.  But wild rabbits have even less of a chance, so please don't feel like you have done something wrong if it dies.

If you have any more questions please let me know.

Answer
If it is wild it will look like a cottaintail.  It won't have the pretty colors that domestic rabbits have.  It will most likely be brown with wirey hair.  If you just put it back out there its just going to die.  You are better off trying to feed it until it gets bigger or finding an animal shelter in your area.  It might still die anyway.
