Answer
Hi Denise,

This condition is known as GI stasis.  It is when the digestive system starts to slow down.  It is always a symptom, never a primary issue, of a root cause....illness, infection, dental problems and diet problems are just a few.  This can escalate into a condition known as ileus and the digestive system stops.

THIS IS A LIFE THREATENING CONDITION AND SHOULD BE SEEN IMMEDIATEDLY BY A RABBIT SAVVY VET!!  The root cause of the problem needs to be identified and corrected.  Proper hydration therapy such as fluids administered either IV or sub-q should be initiated as quickly as possible.  Do not use laxatives or other gut motility drugs.....I do not allow vets to use them either.  A stalled GI can cause a quick die off of the beneficial bacteria that the body uses to digest food.  This decaying bacteria is toxic.  Losing the beneficial bacteria also allow toxic bacteria such as clostridium to grow.  This bacteria can easily lead to an undesired result.  It is absolutely vital to get the gut moving again.  There is no way I can instruct you on exactly what needs to be done as treatment is an advanced medical protocol and if not performed correctly can lead to serious complications.  This requires professional intervention.  Time is crucial as the toxins are building minute by minute.  CONSIDER THIS AN EMERGENCY!!
