Question
We have a male rabbit about 2 years old . Why does our rabbit do this - he seem's to breath rappidly and kind of shakes just not him self ? Also do all rabbit just fil over on there sides ?

Answer
Dear Dean,

I'm not really clear on what you're describing.  If the bunny is jumping and "dancing," then this is normal play behavior.  A happy rabbit will often race around the room, leap into the air, and kick and twist in a full-body laugh.  After that, he'll certainly breathe more rapidly, since he's exerted himself.

A happy, relaxed rabbit also will "toss" himself on his side and relax when he feels confident and secure.  This is normal.

But if your rabbit is actually having neurological fits and then falling over, unable to get up, he needs veterinary attention immediately. Please find a good vet here:

if you think the bunny's signs are abnormal.

I hope this helps.  Please write back if you have any other questions.
