Question
Don't you think he would go inside the sheltered part if it was raining?  Maybe he's just not cold.  Is there anything i can do temporarily to keep him dry?  How will i know if he is sick?  thanks for all your help.

Hello, I just have a quick question.  I just moved my Holland Lop outside and it has been raining for a couple days.  I have a little house for him to go into coming off his cage, but he won't go in!  he just sits in the rain and gets all wet.  My question is, is it harmful at all for Holland Lops to get wet?  It seems like if he was uncomfortable he would go in the shelter, but maybe he is just confused because he's never felt rain before.  I just don't like seeing him all wet!  Thanks for your help :)

Hello Joanna

Yes it is harmful escpesaly if its cold out, rabbits can get colds and pumonia so the cold and wet arent there friends. You should have a hutch if hes being kept outdoors this is a instalted wooden box with a wire front the opens, there can also be a wooden area on the front for him to go and hide behind, the hutch should ahve something over the wire that will let air in but keep the rain/snow out when its raining/snowing.

Answer
Hello Joanna

I have heard a story on the net before that someones rabbit wouldnt go into its hutch when it was raining and died shortly after. To keep him dry take him inside for awhile and maybe set up somesort of makeshift cage for him untill the rain stops. He will sneeze, his eyes will run his nose will run, he may not eat and he wont be very active, when rabbits are sick they need treatment by a vet.
