babies and their mom

I have read several info on rubbing your hands on the mom first before you touch the babies.  I have plastic/surgical gloves and I was wandering if this would advisable?

I have had no problem with my does letting me touch the babies with my bare hands. If your doe is used to your scent, then it should not be a problem. Only thing you really have to do is wash your hands before you touch babies so that you don't give them any germs. I handle my babies with my bare hands so that they get used to my scent before they open their eyes, because they tend to be very wild when they open them at first if not used to me. If it makes you feel more comfortable, you can wear the gloves, it won't cause any harm. I would make sure they are laytex and powder free though.
