Question
hello i have 2 dwarf lop earred rabbits, i have noticed in the last week the male rabbit who is approx 4 yrs old, is making noises, it sounds like a snuffling from the nose, he is still eating and moving about as normal, but i have never heard these noises from him before, should i be concerned?

Answer
If he has any discharge from the nose he could have a cold or have picked up a virus.  If it sounds like a grunt he could be in pain or mad for some reason.

Since he has never made this noise before and it does sound like it is coming from the nose I would personally take him to the doctor to make sure he doesn't have an infection.  Colds can lead to lung problems and pneumonia.  Since he is still eating and acting normal it clearly hasn't got out of control yet but it is better to get him checked and cultured before he gets really sick.

One other thing it could be is that as rabbits get older, much like people they get extra flaps of skin kind of like wrinkles in people.  When he is breathing it could be the skin moving and it sounds a bit similar to snoring.

Keep an eye on him and if they don't go away or you notice any signs of sickness please take him to the vet or emergency animal clinic right away.  If he is still eating, has no diarrhea, no fever (over 103 F), no shortness of breath or labored breathing,  then you can just schedule a regular check-up.

If you have any more questions or concerned please let me know

Thank you and Good luck
