Question
My Rabbit is 3 years old. Do you think it is ok to have him in the car? Also what fun activites can I do with him?
Thanks-
Tricia

Answer
Dear Tricia,

Surprisingly enough, most rabbits are fairly good travelers by car or plane.  At first they are upset by the motion, but they do settle down and relax after an hour or so.  At three years of age, your bunny is still very young and a car ride shouldn't stress him unduly.

If you're asking what fun activities you can do in the car, then the best answer is to just stroke him and give him occasional treats of fresh greens (kale, parsley, cilantro, etc.) to keep him happy and not thirsty.

But if you mean games in general, that's between you and bunny.  :)  Different rabbits have different levels of playfulness.  Some like to play in a cardboard box with "in" and "out" holes cut into it.  Some enjoy a clean paper grocery bag filled with fresh hay.  Some like to play with macaw-safe chew toys, or even baby rattles!  So experiment with your bunny and see what makes him happy.

The best "toy" of course, is a rabbit companionthat you allow him to choose himself from among the spayed/neutered bunnies available at your local rabbit rescuer.  For this, though, he'll have to be neutered first.  Please see:

Hope that helps.  Please write back if you have any other questions.
