carpet cleaning

Hello, I recently received a very nice oriental rug as a gift from a woman with cats and dogs.  I cleaned it with a rug doctor, sprinkled it with baking soda and vacuumed it, and used other commercial carpet cleaners.  I have had the carpet for about 1 week.  Honey, my rabbit is petrified of the carpet and totally freaks out any time I put her on it.  I really want her to like it, I lugged the 100 pound thing up 3 flights of stairs just for her because at my parents house she loves the carpet.  Its a beautiful carpet and I dont want to throw in the towel so easily...is there anything I can do to make her like it?  Im willing to try anything.  thanks, Jamie

It could be that all the chemicals that have been put on it are emitting smells that scare her.  What I would do is let it air for a while, sit in the living room or bedroom, and then sees in a few months if she will be willign to sit on it.

A lot of animals are very sensitive to chemicals and will have nothign to do with them.
