Rabbits weight/size

Question
Hi
I have got 2 female rabbits that live together(sisters). They are around 3 years old. Millie has always been a bit smaller than Lillie and is quite quiet and timid while Lillie is big, brave and cheeky. I am starting to get worried about Millie because now she seems a lot smaller than Lillie and seems slightly underweight. I feed them hay, veg and a couple of handfuls of rabbit mix each day. She seems to be eating fine but not putting on any weight. What could the problem be and what should i do about it? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Answer
Dear Amy,

I would have Millie's molars checked for spurs, ASAP. She may be trying to eat, but dental problems (very common, but not often diagnosed because many vets are inexperienced with this condition!) will interfere and not let her compete with her sister.  Please see:

for a full explanation.

If her molars (not just her front teeth!) are fine, then it's time to do more diagnostic testing, including blood work, and a full wellness check from an experienced rabbit vet:

Hope this helps.
