Question
I have a mama who a friend bought us at an animal auction in early September.  Along with her came two babies)pretty tiny)(1-girl/1-boy).  We weren't sure how old the young ones were so I just took them out of her cage 1 1/2 weeks ago.  Today, mama has hair all over her cage and in her hay.  Could she be pregnant?  I just had one rabbit have babies (total of 9)but none lived.  She did not pull any of her hair.  Please help me!!  Thank You!

Answer
Rabbits pull hair to line nest boxes to keep thier babies warm. This probably the reason your other 9 didn't make it. They probably go too cold. I would give her a nesting box and fill it with hay. If she pulls more hair then more than likely she could be pregant. http://www.islandgems.net/bunbreeding.html This website gives lots of information about breeding and raising bunnies. Hope you can find information that you need.
