Rabbit pulling fur out

Question
I have a rabbit approx 2yrs old which for the 2nd time in 4months has started pulling its fur out under it chin so there is a complete bald patch

Answer
Dear Karen,

Is your bunny spayed?  If not, she may be having a false pregnancy, and this culminates in her pulling fur from her chest and sides to line a nest for her "babies."  If she's two years old, it's time for her to be spayed for her health and longevity. Unspayed, unbred female rabbits have a very high risk of uterine cancer:

You can find a good vet here:

If the bald patch is *only* under her chin, and she's also drooling, then this could be due to molar spurs causing her to drool and lose the fur due to saliva burn.  Please read:

and

and ask your rabbit vet to do a deep oral exam to check for molar problems, if this is consistent with what you see.

Hope this helps.
