help,my rabbit

i have a 1 year old buck who seems to have snot and bogies around his nose,he lays quietly in one corner until i approach the cage, he then wakes up and becomes active.his breathing is slightly noisy and rattles, what can i do?thanks

Dear Sam,

Your bunny sounds in dire need of veterinary attention for a severe upper respiratory infection if he actually has enough nasal discharge to form crusts.  He could also have pneumonia, and that will need very aggressive treatment, such as nebulization and antibiotics.

Please get your bunny to a good rabbit vet without delay:

His life could be in danger if he is acting lethargic at this point.  Please waste no time; consider it an emergency.
