Rabbit bites and growls

Question
Is  my rabbit in heat? She is 4-5 months old. She is growling and seems aggressive. She bit my hand. When do rabbits first come in heat. There have been no other bunnies around her since we got her in Sept. She has always been very sweet and cuddly.

Well, rabbits don't technically go into "heat" like cats or dogs. They do, however, reach sexual maturity around 4-5 months of age and the increase in hormones can cause aggression and other behavioral issues. Unfortunately, unlike a heat cycle, sexually mature rabbits are *always* hormonal. Sounds like it might be a good time to look into getting your girl spayed.
