Persistent Diarrhea

Question
My boy didn't eat dinner on Sunday and by Monday morning had diarrhea.  I took him to a rabbit-savy vet on Monday who suspected a molar spur was causing the drama.  He also detected a slight ear infection so he was put on baytril (in addition to Metacam and cisapride).  On Monday evening he was eating - not as much as usual but a fair amount.  He didn't eat again until Tuesday night when I introduced some softer greens.  Tuesday during the day he did have diarrhea again - but I figured it was because there was no food in stomache.  Wednesday during the day he had diarrhea again. I've concluded that the only difference between the days and nights is the Baytril dosage or a treat of an apple.  I didn't give him the baytril this morning but he still got diarrhea.  Tomorrow I will try without the apple.  Any other suggestions???  This has been going on for too many days!!!!

Please help.

Answer
Dear Sandeep,

Did the vet schedule a time to have the molars checked and filed?  This is a very common cause of the stress that can result in cecal dysbiosis, which is what you are seeing.  Please read this for a full explanation:

Besides dental problems, incorrect diet can contribute to runny poop, too.  Please see:

But if the vet hasn't yet dealt with the molars, that should be priority #1.  I hope he'll be better after his teeth are comfortable again.
