Question
My mini-rex, Stinky, turned 4 this past June.  I had him altered on the advice of his Vet.  Now he is shedding like crazy and seems to be nesting in the hutch portion of his house.  His once velvety rex fur now feels clumpy, and when I brush him, too much comes out.  Did altering him screw up his hormones?  Or could he just be reacting to an Indian summer.  Please let me know if I need to take him back to the Vet.  Thanks.

Answer
Rabbits generally shed about 4 times a year.  Occasionally you will get a shed that seems to be dumping the whole coat, which sounds like what you are having here.  As long as his skin is not red or flaky or looks like he has dandruff, then it's probably just the shedding.  Generally neutering males doesn't mess up their hormones, it might be coincidental, I have several rabbits shedding right now too.
