snuffles?

Question
My female netherland dwarf rabbit has been sneezing lately. I had read that they can sometimes be allergic to something and not to worry unless you see nasal discharge. I have been keeping an eye on her for the past month or so, and just tonight I saw some green milky discharge. She isn't openiing her mouth to breathe, and doesn't seem labored for air. She is perfectly healthy otherwise. I am planning on taking her to a vet soon so I can get her on some antibiotics, is there anything I can do for her at home? Any rabbit antibiotics you know are safe for rabbits? Thank you.

Answer
Dear Allison,

I found your question in the Question Pool here today, where another expert had placed it.  Sorry for the delay, but I only now got this query.

Please read:

There really is nothing safe you can give her over the counter:  many medications, including many antibiotics, that are safe for humans, dogs and cats can be very dangerous or even deadly to rabbits.

Please find a good rabbit vet here to help you:

Hope this helps.
