best age for showing mini rex rabbits

This is my daughters 1st year showing mini rex rabbits in the fair. Our first purchas was a opal buck going on 2 years old. We have been looking for a doe to breed with him... We have located a doe but...she is 2years as well. my question is how old is too old to bread and what is the best age to show a rabbit. This question comes to me due to not being able to find a younger doe...

hi sandy-firstly rabbits are clased as adults at 5 months old so at 2 years the rabbit is getting old ,but i would still try and get a few youngsters off her.
we start to show rabbits at 12 weeks old in baby classes so at 5 months they can then go in the adult classes.
and usually you show them whilst they are in good condition.
