Question
My bunnies like to shelter under a cotoneaster in my yard when they are taking their exercise.  However, now that the berries are ripening, I've noticed the male  may be eating the berries.  Are they safe for rabbits?

Answer
hi,

there are a lot of different kinds of cotoneaster.  I can't tell you because I don't know which one.  I have seen some information that some are like Evergreen-type shrubs/trees.  I have also seen reports that wild rabbits regularly eat cotoneasters (again it did notsay which ones).

I would think he will be alright, but I would just double-check with your regular, good rabbit vet.  IF you don't have one go to:

www.rabbit.org/vets/vets.html

and fidn a House Rabbit Society-recommended vet near you.
