QuestionHello. We brought home a baby Lionhead rabbit about 5 days ago. At first, he wasn't pooping and we thought it was just from stress. Yesterday, we noticed a couple of poop pellets and some runny stool (diarrhea). We cleaned him up, put fresh water and hay and pellets in his cage, and put him back. Today, he has poops with clear mucous-like substance in about three areas of the cage. We don't know what to do, is it just from the stress of moving? Or is it something bad? We can't really afford a vet, so we're looking for home remedies. Thank you!
AnswerDear Ali,
I wish I could tell you that a home remedy will be okay, but a baby rabbit with diarrhea is in potentially very serious situation. As it says in my introduction, DO NOT SEEK HELP ON THE INTERNET in a case like this! It can be life-threatening, and an answer might not come in time.

for emergency information. But it would be wisest to seek the help of a rabbit-savvy veterinarian ASAP:

I hope the baby will be okay.
